Wedding Bells

The wedding season has officially begun. I love Indian weddings, so much joy around. This season I decided to ditch the heavily embroidered sherwanis and colourful kurtas and went with something plain and simple. This look of mine is one of my personal favourites; it is simple, not over the top and of course, it’s stylish. Colour black in itself is very versatile, something which you can never go wrong with, for those who are a little on the heavier side and want to hide the extra flab colour black again comes to your rescue, so, all in all, it’s a classic. I went with this plain black cotton kurta and layered it up mandarin collared Nehru jacket. Remember monochromatic layering should preferably be done in two different fabrics, for example here the fabric of my kurta is cotton and the material of my Nehru jacket is polycotton. I also added a red pocket square that just made the look even more decadent, this is a great technique to add that hint of colour.  Plain white churidars, wristwatch and burgundy coloured lace-up shoes completed the look. That’s it! I am ready to rock the party. Styling this black kurta with a pair of light blue coloured denim (regular or ripped), a pair of kolhapuri chappals and a tan bag can be your #ootd to your college. I love to style my kurtas with denim jeans. Girls can also add junk jewellery or a belt (to accentuate their waist) to their college look. I hope these tips were informative and helpful.

Until then next time!
